The Guilt We Carry

We all carry guilt from sins we’ve committed. Like Amber Guyger, we’ve harmed others, even unintentionally. Whether it’s lying, cheating, being harsh with our words, or any other trespass, we all have regrets. These failures can haunt us, keeping us stuck in shame and despair. But the good news is that Christ offers us total forgiveness and freedom through his redemptive blood (Eph 1:7). When he died on the cross, Jesus paid for all our sins – past, present and future. His grace is greater than all our sin. We don’t have to be defined by those past sins and failures anymore. In Christ, we are new creations. The Bible says he separates us from our sins as far as the east is from the west (Psalm 103:12). We have been released from the prison of guilt. So let’s walk in the freedom and joy of God’s astounding grace today!

Questions:

  1. What sins or failures tend to haunt you with guilt?
  2. How can you walk in greater freedom today through Christ’s forgiveness?
