Motivated by Grace

God’s grace motivates our good works, not the other way around. When we have tasted His undeserved favor, we are compelled to live for Him out of gratitude, not from guilt or even primarily from duty. We obey not to earn something from God, but because we have already been given everything in Christ. His grace sets us free from the burden of trying to earn salvation and fuels joyful obedience. Our hearts overflow with praise, leading us to gladly serve the One who will never stop revealing to us the immeasurable riches of his grace.

Questions:

  1. Are you motivated by guilt, duty or fear? Or by grace, love and gratitude? How can you grow in grace-motivated obedience?
  2. How can you let God’s amazing grace be the fuel for your work today? Take time to remember and give thanks.
