We have been reconciled to God through the blood of Christ. While we were still sinners, Christ died for us and made peace through his cross (Rom 5:10; Col 1:20). Now he has given us this ministry of reconciliation (2 Cor 5:18). He has commissioned us as his ambassadors of peace in this broken, divided world. We have good news of reconciliation to share! Because we have experienced forgiveness and peace with God, we are called to be agents of reconciliation in strained relationships and divided communities. We are to be repairers of broken walls and bridges (Eph 2:14-18). As people united in Christ, we tear down walls of hostility and build bridges of love. We fight injustice and bind up wounds. We spread the grace and truth of the gospel. Where there is division, hatred or misunderstanding, we bring the message of unity found at the cross.
