God, in his great wisdom, has chosen to reveal his magnificent plan to us – to unite all things under the loving lordship of Christ (Eph 1:9-10). All of creation was meant to be under Christ’s headship, living in harmony under God’s wise and gracious rule. But sin corrupted everything, unleashing rebellion and discord. Yet God promises to restore the order and unity of creation under Christ’s authority. What an amazing privilege that God would disclose this mystery to us! He wants us to partner with him in accomplishing this mission. As his people, we further God’s plan when we proclaim the gospel with our words and demonstrate its power with changed lives. We advance this mission as we live as peacemakers, agents of reconciliation in a divided world. God is at work to restore all of creation, and he invites us to join him in this monumental mission!
