Immeasurable Power

Paul also prays we would know “the immeasurable greatness of [God’s] power toward us who believe” (Ephesians 1:19). The same God who raised Jesus from the dead after being in the grave three days has limitless power available to us as His followers. Yet we often live defeated, discouraged, and worried lives that do not reflect the reality of the Spirit’s power alive in us. Paul says this power is “immeasurable” – there is no force in the universe that rivals it. Meditating on God’s infinite power at work within us changes how we view obstacles, conflicts, sin, and despair. As we gain an enlightened perspective on the endless power, resources, and strength we have access to through Christ’s Spirit in us, our lives are transformed. We gain boldness to pray courageously, to love sacrificially, to serve selflessly, and to hope confidently no matter our circumstances. Ask God to open your eyes to grasp and walk in this power.

  • In what areas of life do you need a fresh glimpse of God’s power?
  • How would you live differently if you fully grasped the greatness of God’s power within you?
