Paul says that God fills the church, Christ’s body, with His very presence and power (Ephesians 1:22-23). Just as God’s glory once filled the temple in the Old Testament, now His Spirit fills the church – comprised of individual believers like you and me. What an amazing privilege! Not only are we indwelt and empowered by Christ’s Spirit, but we get to participate in God’s mission of filling the whole earth with the gospel message. As those filled up and led by Jesus, we are called to spread the filling presence of Christ to the world through our words, acts of service, and the overflow of Christ’s love through us. We join in Jesus’ mission to draw all peoples to Himself. This is a mission he cannot and will not fail.
