How to Boost Your Productivity with One Simple Tool

I like to get things done. So do you.

But there are a million distractions that stand in the way of the accomplishment of our goals. Those with the strength of will to resist those distractions are getting the most done. Those without the strength of will, are watching them with regret and wondering how they do it.

If you are one of those wishing you could focus better, you don’t have to wish anymore. Now there is a tool that more than 1,000,000 people use that can help boost your willpower to avoid distractions and accomplish your goals. It’s called Freedom.

Freedom allows you to block the major distractions between you and productivity: namely, those that come through the internet. Facebook eating up your time? Block it. Email constantly calling to you while you’re trying to focus? Not anymore.

Our brains are somewhat lazy. They naturally want to take the path of least resistance and avoid doing hard things. So when you’re trying to focus on writing a report or thinking through a complicated problem, your brain suggests you do something easier like read the news or check a social media feed. Too often, we acquiesce to our baser instincts. Turning on Freedom literally blocks the path to the easy internet escape and allows you to keep your energy focused on the difficult but meaningful work in front of you.

But it’s not just a simple blocker. Like me, you may need to access parts of the internet to be productive. You just don’t want to have access to all the internet. With Freedom you can choose to block everything, or just one thing. Likewise, you can choose to block everything but whitelist those sites or programs you would like to be able to use during your Freedom session. Best of all, you can set up Freedom to run at set times throughout the day so that you don’t even need to exercise your willpower to turn it on. Instead, you can simply go about pursuing your goals and making a difference.

I used Freedom for a few years on the annual subscription basis, and then decided that it would save me money to just buy the lifetime subscription. I’m glad I did. And I gladly recommend it to anyone else who is tired of scrolling their life away. I believe that as Christians get focused on what matters by keeping lesser distractions from consuming our energy and attention, we can change our corner of the world. At the very least, we can do the things we truly care about.
